A drop or two is all you need, or one light pass of the roll-on, so a small bottle goes a long way. A slow, gentle rub is fine. Our guide to applying perfume oil takes you through each step, clothes included.

Strictly, an attar is distilled into sandalwood oil, which is why we don't call ours that. Our guide to oud, agarwood and attar explains the words.

Are your perfume oils alcohol-free?

Yes, every one of them. With no alcohol to lift the scent, they open softly and sit close to the skin.

How do I apply perfume oil?

Dab on a drop or two, or roll it once over your skin. You can rub it in slowly and gently if you like.

Can I put perfume oil on my clothes?

Yes. Put it on your skin first and rub it in gently to thin it, then touch it lightly to the fabric. Oil can mark silk and pale fabrics, so test a hidden spot first.

Is perfume oil the same as attar?

Not quite. A traditional attar is distilled into sandalwood oil, though the word gets used for many alcohol-free perfumes. We call ours perfume oils.

Which size should I choose?

A 3 ml or 6 ml roll-on is easy to carry and a good way to get to know a scent. Once you've found the one, go for the full-size bottle.
